I'm Vishakha Singh

kalaaakara@gmail.com

a practicing artist based in New Delhi. I started my artistic journey by completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Amity University, where I developed a strong foundation in various art forms and techniques. Following that, I pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from MIT University in Pune, allowing me to explore my artistic skills further and develop my unique style.

Throughout my education, I have experimented with different mediums, such as painting, and sculpture, and have honed my skills in each of them. My surroundings and experiences inspire my art, and I often draw from my personal life to create meaningful pieces.

As an artist, I am fascinated by the power of human form to convey emotions and meaning. But in my work, I eschew the traditional focus on the face and head, instead using the body as a canvas for exploring the relationship between color and emotion. My work centers around the color brown which for me represents both warmth and grounding. I use a range of shades and textures of brown to create figures that are at once abstract and deeply expressive. Ultimately, my aim as an artist is to create a space for contemplation and introspection, where viewers can engage with their own emotions and experiences through the universal language of the human form.
